Does your hair only grow to a certain length or it's constantly breaking off?
I hear you. I am you. But I do have a few things I do to my hair to keep it in the most healthy state I can. First and foremost, product and tools are going to be some of your biggest influences. If you want to know what I use and recommend, check out this blog post. One of the biggest reasons your hair breaks is because of lightening (that's the polite word that us professionals use for bleach) and heat damage. Trusting your hairdresser and the limits they put on how light you can go each visit is extremely important. Even with all of the professional product, color and tools, hair is fragile and can still break. So, what else can we do about it? Conditioning Treatments. Yes, they're worth it and do actually make a difference. There are some that are "feel good" treatments that will make your hair feel great, but it's really important to use ones that actually repair your hair. I want to share a few of my favorite treatments (both in-salon and at home) that make all the difference. Now, it totally depends on what's going on with your hair what treatment is right for you. Here are my absolute favorites! IN SALON. Breakage. My overall favorite is Paul Mitchell's Keratriplex Treatment. This isn't a keratin treatment, but it does have keratin proteins in it that help repair the hair from the inside out. It is a great treatment for breakage, it adds shine and helps with the longevity of your haircolor. It lasts about six weeks, so it's a great add-on at every appointment. Frizz. I actually recommend two different treatments for frizz, but they do two completely different things. The one that is actually a conditioning treatment is called HydraTriplex. It leaves your hair 82% softer and more manageable. This treatment also lasts about six weeks. Breakage and Frizz. Hair a hot mess? You need protein and moisture. I recommend doing a dual treatment of KeraTriplex and HydraTriplex. Get the best of both worlds! Extra Frizzy. Ok, so that other treatment I was talking about is a keratin treatment (you may have heard them referred to as brazilian blowouts before). The keratin treatment we offer will significantly reduce the frizz in your hair for a minimum of three months (most people get the service 2-3x per year). The best part is, this treatment does not remove your curl. So you can still wear it curly if you want, but straightening it is about 1000x easier. Mid-spring is the perfect time of year for this treatment as we get ready to head into those warm, humid months. Color Fade. We have a treatment that is custom-colored just for your hair. Color Craft is a unique treatment because not only will it condition and soften your hair, you can also add temporary color with this conditioning treatment. So whether you’re looking to freshen up your color or add a tint of something fun, Color Craft can be used on anyone. Preventative. Another favorite is Olaplex. Olaplex is a little bit different, as it is a bond multiplier and you actually mix it into your color or lightener to help rebuild bonds while the color is processing. This is a two-step process so number one goes into the color and number two goes on after rinsing the hair. There’s also a number three that you can take home to keep your hair healthy between appointments. I highly suggest this one if you're looking to go blonder or already rocking the balayage look. AT HOME. Split Ends. Marula Oil Intensive Masque will totally help. Shampoo with Marula Oil Shampoo, rinse, apply treatment, let sit for 10-20 minutes, rinse and style as desired. Marula Oil Treatment is an oil that can be used as a treatment. Saturate your ends with a few full droppers to dry hair, let sit for 10-20 minutes and then shampoo and condition as normal. Style as desired. Breakage. Awapuhi Wild Ginger Keratin Intensive Treatment is your answer. Shampoo with Awapuhi Wild Ginger Shampoo, rinse, apply treatment, let sit for 10-20 minutes, rinse and style as desired. Frizz. Lavender Mint Mineral Mask's got you! Shampoo with Lavender Mint Shampoo, apply treatment, let sit for 10-20 minutes, rinse and style as desired. Color Fade. Color Craft to the rescue. Shampoo with PM Shampoo of your choice, apply color craft treatment, let sit for 10-20 minutes, rinse and style as desired. Don't worry, we'll add just the right amount of pigment to your jar to match your exact hair color! Hope all of these tips help get your hair looking the best it can. Don't hesitate to ask about a treatment at your next appointment! XOXO, Angie

I've been doing hair for over 10 years now, and I've always had a passion for long hair. I've never worn my hair above my collar bone, and honestly, short hair (cutting and styling) really intimidates me... I think mostly because I've never had any personal experience with it. I had extensions put in while I was still in cosmetology school. I absolutely loved them, but...
I was allergic to the glue used to attach them to my own hair. The entire back of my head was of hives, but I refused to take them out because I loved the length. They only lasted about two or three weeks, because I struggled to keep them looking natural. They were single strands, so I always had to brush them so they didn't look like spaghetti strings. I ended up removing them and all that long hair went straight to the trash. A year or so into my career, I learned about individual beaded extensions. I loved the idea of no glue, so I dove right in. I ended up finding a company based out of Ohio, and I was so excited to get started and support something locally. I had my first guest, they looked stunning, anddddd they all came out within 24 hours. So, I called the company, and I was applying them wrong, so she came back in and we put them back in. They made it about 48 hours and same thing. I paid the owner of the company to come teach me how to do it (he actually reinstalled her hair) and the same. damn. thing. I was so frustrated. A few years later, I found tape-in extensions. I could install them in under an hour, and they looked great. While I'm not a hater of other extension methods, I was SO bummed when my guest came in for her first move up. Taking them out, cleansing them and applying them in the exact same place they were before took FOR. EV. ER. Honestly, like 3-4 hours with an assistant. They were tacky AND you can't pull your hair up with them without seeing the extensions. Another disappointment. I found Halo Couture Extensions at a hair show one year, and honestly, I love them. It's a long weft of hair that sits under the top layer of your hair. They look great, but they do come in and out every day. So it's a GREAT temporary method, but still isn't the same as always having your hair in. Fast forward to Summer 2017. I was at a business retreat in San Fransisco, and a dear friend kept talking about these extensions. I started following NBR on social media, and finally committed to their training about 6 months later. I am SO freaking glad I did. Not only have the extensions transformed my business, they've also helped me with my own self confidence. I've now invested thousands of dollars and countless hours into training and specializing in this method of hair extensions. It's quick, there's no glue or tape and the results are STUNNING. I cannot believe how much different my life looks nearly a year after I started my journey with Natural Beaded Rows Extensions, but I am SO thankful that this opportunity came into my life. It has reignited that passion for hair again, and I am in love with giving people the hair (and confidence) that they've always dreamed of.
