So maybe you're wondering why your stylist has a cancellation policy in place? The biggest reasons are to protect our stylists, our guests and our business. As licensed professionals who have dedicated thousands of hours and dollars into our education, skill and craft, we also only get paid when our guests show up. Imagine going into work for the day to find out that you won't be paid for the first half of the day, but you still have to stay until your next guest comes in 2 hours. Honestly, it stinks and it's even worse when you have guests waiting to get on your schedule.
Our Policy Protects Our Stylists Did you know that in our industry, most Stylists earn their income by commission? This means they do not make a salary, they do not get paid hourly. They earn their living by taking care of the guests in their chair. If a guest doesn’t show up for their appointment or cancels with little notice, this doesn’t leave an opportunity for the Stylist to book another appointment. Our Policy Protects Our Guests Did you know that at Eclectic Hair Studio, we have at any given moment, three to ten guests waiting on a cancellation list for appointments? Also, we are booked as an entire team a few weeks out, especially nights and weekends (typically 5+ weeks). We continue to hire, train and grow because of this demand! So given this demand, we have to enforce our policy to protect those who are eagerly waiting an appointments. We ask for a minimum of 24 hours notice in the event of a cancellation. With our booking system, you are sent a confirmation text and email 48-72 hours before your appointment, where you can simply cancel through those messages. You are also able to log in to your online account 24/7 where you can do the same. You are also sent an appointment reminder 24 hours before your appointment. Incase you missed them, here is a link to our policies. Grace and Expectations We are human and understand that accidents happen, people get sick and emergencies occur. We will do our best to accommodate these rare occasions with grace. We do keep record of these events to prevent the abuse of these policies. We understand that these policies may come across as harsh and our goal is to be preventative in order to protect and accommodate our team and guests.
